Cigars 101 - Education and Lounge Experience
Our resident aficionados, Nate Pohnert and Joshua Stump, both joined Smokers Abbey during its founding in 2013, and have been actively managing the premium cigar lounge ever since. They have each lived the cigar culture for at least 10 years, learning everything about tobacco cultivating and manufacturing. They have a wealth of knowledge ready to share with your group and will be able to answer any questions you may have about cigars and pipe tobacco.
What Is This Experience?
You'll start off by receiving a craft beer or soft drink of your choice and will then be led into the large walk-in humidor. The host will discuss the differences between the various cigar offerings, and each guest will be able to choose something that matches his or her palate and experience level. Then, you'll head into the Smokers Abbey Lounge area where everyone can have a seat on the comfortable leather furniture.
The host will discuss the rich history of cigar culture and describe everything from how cigars are made to the different styles and how to enjoy them. You'll be taught a variety of cutting, lighting, and smoking techniques so even the most novice smoker will enjoy the experience. The hosts will tailor the discussion to fit the interests and prior knowledge of each group, so beginners through aficionados alike will all learn something new.
Your group exclusively reserves the Abbey's Cigar Lounge area for the full 2 hours. You'll be given a Premium House Cigar at the end of the event which you can enjoy in the Abbey or take with you.
